The Protego Team is a group of problem solvers, with practical experience and a track record to implement technology solutions globally.

We are a group of technology and business minded people who thrives on being challenged with difficult or seemingly impossible tasks. We started the business more than two decades ago in Sub-Saharan Africa, doing exactly this, and has expanded it across the Asian market, with new initiatives also starting in Latin America. Initially, focusing our efforts in more challenging markets and trade conditions, we managed to grow roots and learn all the main skillsets needed to operate the complete delivery channel post manufacturing. Over time, we realized that creative problem solving, managing the complete value chain from post-manufacturing and being involved with the continued improvement and technology renewals of a customer’s estate, was an unique asset that the team developed. This set of skills, combined with a basket of carefully selected security technologies, are now arrows in our quiver, which we deploy pro-actively. We realized that the technology is only useful if deployed and operated from a skilled environment, with practical logistical solutions. We are curious people, smart observers, and quick learners. Our business operation and engagements with stakeholders and partners, are rooted in a set of family values that includes respect for diversity, people, and nature. We believe in strong but kind leadership, that taking ownership of our mistakes is imperative for growth. Having fun in what we do is important, because it also generates energy.

What We Do

We make dealing with and operating security technology systems, easier for end-users and system integrators.

Protego is specializing in a carefully selected basket of security technologies, which we use as building blocks towards finding solutions for our clients. Technology alone is not a solution – this we realized from the onset. Therefore, we offer our technology equipment and software together with an experienced inhouse logistics service, innovative training programs for engineers and operators and onsite risk analysis, in order to ensure that the technology is not simply a project deployment, but in fact a dynamic tool that remains current to the user’s requirement and changing needs in their journey. We work closely with both the users of the technology as well as the initial installer of the equipment and solutions. Our technology offering is carefully selected, to allow humble start to the journey, but with the capacity and feature sets to grow towards an globally enterprise deployment and integrated platform, serving the needs of multi-national organisations with a need for global standards and centralised monitoring. Our manufacturing partners are critical stakeholders in our operations and important part of the success of our business. For this reason, it is important for us to have very close relationships and understanding of their products and processes. With our focus on the complete value chain and lifecycle of the technological journey, we are determined to remove any unnecessary costs for our end-user partners, driving best value offering. We do this without joining the proverbial “race to the bottom”, realizing that the complete value chain needs to be both competitive and sustainable.

How We Do It

We make a point of understanding what happens at the coalface. We match the technological solution with identified requirement. We ensure suitably skilled people are involved throughout the delivery chain. We show up.

We make a point of understanding the requirements a customer has, in order to give us the space to creatively shape a complete solution around the technologies we basket. This involves not only designing a technological solution matched to address the identified risks, but also to ensure the solutions remains in place and current. We have to provide training to users and operators, ensure the solutions remains functional and resilient as boundary conditions change as risk profiles morphs over time. We offer cost effective post installation solutions, covering plans to keep critical stock items within reach of the client and skilled support on speed-dial. Through clever application of technological advances, we make expert skills available, even on remote sites, for system commissioning, fault-finding, equipment testing and training purposes. >We spend time with our customer partners on their sites. >We facilitate product developments based on end-user requirements. >We continue to learn. >We establish a formal Alliance of skilled installation partners in our regions of influence.
